Los Angeles Lakers: 3 positive early signs to look for as the season begins

Russell Westbrook comes off the bench

There are a few reasons why I believe that Russell Westbrook coming off the bench will be a great early sign for the Los Angeles Lakers. For one, if Russ does come off the bench, it means that head coach Darvin Ham isn’t afraid to experiment with the rotation – something that the team didn’t do much of last season.

And second, it means that we get to see LeBron James and Anthony Davis try to recreate their magic without Russ in the mix. Of course, there will likely be some overlapping over the course of the game. But to start off and during crunch time, we’ll be able to see this Lakers team without Russ – despite it all, he just hasn’t been a great fit.

Plus, Russ will probably feast off the bench. If he does have anything left in the tank, this is a way the Lakers can get it out of him.
