Chicago Bulls
Chicago Bulls fans have had a difficult go for the last decade. It all began with Tom Thibodeau playing Derrick Rose for too long and it resulted in a torn ACL. From that moment forward, Bulls fans have been starving for the success of that 2010s Bulls franchise. The Bulls are slowly improving, and it starts to head downhill when all looks good.
Early on last season, the Bulls looked like they would be a threat in the Eastern Conference. The team battled with countless injuries, and even though DeMar DeRozan played at an MVP level, it was not enough to lead the Bulls into the second round of the playoffs. This season was looking to be different, but it may not.
The Bulls signed Zach LaVine to a supermax extension, locking him up for the long term. The Bulls expected LaVine to be good to go, but an injury is not holding him out for the beginning of the season. In addition to Lavine’s injury, Lonzo Ball will be held out for a few months as he works back from his recent knee procedure. These injuries and the lack of production from former fourth-overall pick Patrick Williams will impact how this season goes.
Bulls fans will need to keep their expectations low for now. While they may be a piece or two from being legit contenders in the eastern conference, the time may not be now unless all players get healthy and Williams lives up to his insane potential.
