NBA: 9 unnecessary overreactions after the first week of the season
We’re probably not going to see the best version of the LA Clippers until the playoffs
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to come to the conclusion that we’re probably not going to see the best version of the LA Clippers until the postseason. That much was evident when it was announced that Kawhi Leonard would start the season by coming off the bench.
In what may end up being a smart move, the Clippers are going to ease Kawhi back into the swing of things. It’s probably something that they should do and could end up paying dividends if they can enter the postseason with a fully healthy Kawhi and Paul Goerge – something that they haven’t had in a few years.
But that comes with a give and take. Easing Kawhi’s load during the regular season means that the Clippers may not finish as a top 3 or 4 seed in the Western Conference. But that could also mean that the Clippers will be set up in the postseason to be the best version of themselves too.
