The Sixers have lost to great teams (for the most part)

It’s always important to have opinions only when the necessary context is considered. And for the Philadelphia 76ers, there needs to be some context to their 1-3 start to the season. While I can’t defend the loss to the San Antonio Spurs (that was unacceptable), the other two losses that the Sixers have had came against the two best teams in the Eastern Conference – and two teams that will be considered title favorites.

The Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks are probably the two teams in the East that many have penciled in as the only other two teams in the East that will be better than the Sixers this season. So it’s not exactly the end of the world that the Sixers lost those two games to start the season.

The Sixers lost both games by single digits too – though, they probably should’ve beaten the Bucks who were without Khris Middleton.

Philadelphia is fine. Again, this is a team that will likely end up winning many regular-season games. Though, they’re going to understandably struggle against the likes of the Bucks and Celtics.
