NBA: 4 teams that have gotten off to frighteningly bad starts this season
Miami Heat
It hasn’t been an ideal start to the season for the Miami Heat. But it’s not like the front office can be mad by any stretch of the imagination. This is a front office that willingly elected to do nothing when the team saw PJ Tucker walk to the Philadephia 76ers in free agency. Miami essentially betted on internal progression and hasn’t seen much of it to start the year.
Kyle Lowry, Tyler Herro, and Bam Adebayo have been too inconsistent to start the year. Victor Oladipo has yet to play in a game (and who knows when that is going to happen?) and there aren’t any saviors that are walking through that door.
Miami could theoretically make an in-season trade but I have a hard time seeing a move that’s out there waiting to be made that will drastically shift this team’s ceiling right now. Is this a slow start? Perhaps. But it’s also concerning from an outside perspective.
