The Lakers’ supporting cast has been underwhelming

During the offseason, the Los Angeles Lakers made the decision to revamp their supporting cast around LeBron James and Anthony Davis. There’s no knocking the decision. It was probably a smart one. The Lakers need some roster adjusting. However, through the first few weeks of the season, it simply hasn’t made much of a difference.

In fact, the Lakers are 20th in the league in bench scoring and only have one player not named LeBron, AD, or Westbrook that is averaging more than 10 points per game. This was supposed to be a younger, more dynamic supporting cast for the Lakers.

That simply hasn’t been the case. Even last year, the Lakers had a much higher-scoring punch off the bench. If the Lakers are going to start winning games at a higher clip, that’s something that will have to change over the next few weeks.
