NBA Trade Rumors: Los Angeles Lakers have their eyes on one big-name star
NBA Trade Rumors: According to a recent report, there’s one big-name star that the Los Angeles Lakers would love to land via trade.
Over the course of the next few weeks, the Los Angeles Lakers will be one of the teams that will heavily be in the rumor mill. They desperately need to make a trade to salvage the season and whether they want it or not, the rumors are going to build.
And so far this season, the Lakers aren’t foreign to the rumor mill. And they’ve already been linked to a few possible deals. At least for now, it seems as if they’re going to take a patient approach to making a deal.
According to one report, there is one big-name player that the Lakers are keeping a close eye on – Bradley Beal. But that one is more difficult than many realize. Beal, who is averaging 22 points and six assists per game this season, just re-signed with the Washington Wizards and has been reluctant to ask for a trade in recent years.
Could this finally be the moment for Beal?
Could Bradley Beal request a trade this season?
This is a question that many teams around the league have asked. And this past offseason, when Beal had a golden opportunity to move on from the Wizards in free agency, he elected not to. So, at least on the surface, there is some hesitance on the idea that Beal will ever get the courage to call his shot out of Washington.
Nevertheless, there’s really no reason for him not to if he wanted to now. Beal has his money secured and if he indeed wants to compete for a championship, this would be an ideal time for a trade request to come.
Beal is 29 years old and in the middle of his NBA prime years. If not now, I’m not exactly sure we’ll ever see Beal want out of Washington. Then again, these are the very things we were saying as the offseason quickly emerged a few months ago. Beal decided to remain in Washington.
It’s an interesting idea, to say the least. It’s one of those things where you’ll have to see it to believe it, but Beal would be an intriguing addition to the Lakers. At the same time, it feels extremely unlikely. For now, at least.
