Can Kyrie Irving stay out of trouble and avoid another controversy?

When Kyrie is on the floor, there aren’t many issues. He’s one of the most talented players to ever dribble a basketball. And if he didn’t have the off-the-court controversies, you could make an argument that he would be considered one of the best players in the game today. But, it hasn’t been that simple for Kyrie over the last few years.

It has seemed that over the past few years, Kyrie can’t seem to not find controversy – whether he’s tangibly looking for it or whether it just falls upon him. Either way, it hasn’t helped him or the teams that he’s with.

So, one of the bigger questions that will need to be answered when Kyrie returns is whether or not he’ll be able to avoid another controversy – something that will negatively impact his game and availability and the Nets as a whole.

His teammates are unlikely to call him out but it’s hard to not view his recent controversies as things that have not impacted the team. At the very least, it’s an added distraction that the Nets simply don’t need.

Can Kyrie avoid another misstep this season? It remains to be seen.
