Miami Heat

The Miami Heat has gotten off to an embarrassingly bad start to the season. Through the first few weeks of the season, the Heat is 6-7 and in danger of becoming an afterthought in the Eastern Conference (if they haven’t gotten there yet). It’s pretty clear that this team is in need of a roster shakeup.

Looking at what they have on their roster, a big trade could prove to be difficult for the Heat. Though, they should at least try. The core of Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Kyle Lowry, and Tyler Herro needs some adjusting. Not only has it been proven that this core isn’t enough to win a championship but they have also proven to be not a great fit.

Jimmy probably isn’t being moved, though he could bring an interesting return, and neither is Bam Adebayo. Herro’s recent contract extension makes him a complicated player to move considering the salary jump that awaits him next season.

That leaves Kyle Lowry. But he’s also not a player that many teams around the league will be lining up to acquire. If the Heat wants to make a big move at this year’s trade deadline and shake up their core, it will likely take a couple of future first-round picks.

Would the Heat do that?
