Derrick Rose

It seems as though Derrick Rose’s time with the New York Knicks is coming to an end, one way or another. Rose’s role on the team has significantly diminished this season and he’s only averaging 13 minutes per game. Considering he has a team option for next season, there’s a very real chance that this could end up being Rose’s final season in New York.

If that is indeed true, it would make little sense for the Knicks to continue to bury him on the bench. Especially if he still has anything left in the tank. If he can still help a contender, let him help a contender. The Knicks should at the very least explore the trade market for Rose over the course of the next few weeks.

Rose is only averaging six points on 37 percent shooting from the field but hasn’t had much time to prove his worth this season. Maybe he can average better numbers with a more defined role; that’s something the Knicks have not given him.

If the Knicks truly want to make a move to shift things in their rotation, perhaps Rose is the player they should look to move.
