NBA Trade Rumors: With the regular season well underway, the LA Clippers could be prepping to make a run at Myles Turner.
Roughly 15 games through the regular season, this is the point where we can begin to gauge where teams are. It’s the point in the season where we could see some teams make a big splash after an underwhelming start. One of those teams could be the LA Clippers.
The Clippers are currently 8-6. It hasn’t been a terrible start regarding wins and losses for the Clippers but you can argue that they should be in a better position than they are. There are still big questions regarding Kawhi Leonard, who has only played in two games this season, and you can’t help but wonder if this team has enough even if Kawhi returns at some point this season.
LA is an interesting team because they have one of the deepest rosters in the Western Conference and could benefit from another high-level player (especially if Kawhi is going to continue to miss time). According to one recent report, one player that could be in play for the Clippers is Myles Turner.
Turner would fit the bill as a high-level productive player. He is expected to be moved at the trade deadline and could add an interesting dynamic to this Clippers team.
The suitor list for Myles Turner should grow as we inch closer and closer to the NBA Trade Deadline
As we draw near to the NBA Trade Deadline (it’s still roughly three months away), the expected list of suitors for Turner is expected to grow. Recently, the only team that has really been linked to him has been the Los Angeles Lakers. However, at least for now, it doesn’t appear that the Lakers are willing to go all-in on that move.
Unless something changes, Turner is probably not going to be traded to Los Angeles. Well, not the Lakers at least.
Depending on what the Pacers would ask in a potential deal, Turner could absolutely find his way to the Clippers. LA doesn’t have a ton of picks to choose from but they could come up with one that they could send to Indiana to make a deal work, along with some salary-filling players.
Don’t overlook the Clippers as a team that would be willing to go out and make a play for Turner. Especially if we get closer to the trade deadline and perhaps the market for Turner doesn’t overwhelm Indiana.
