New York Knicks send Julius Randle to the Charlotte Hornets
This is the type of deal that the Knicks could pursue in an attempt to land some players that may be a better fit than Julius Randle. It would also give the Knicks some versatility in the frontcourt, something that Randle doesn’t offer much of.
The Knicks would send Randle, Cam Reddish, and a first-round pick to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Gordon Hayward and P.J. Washington.
From the Knicks’ perspective, Washington and Hayward are better fits than Randle. Of course, the big question is whether or not Hayward can remain healthy. Ever since his time in Boston, Hayward has struggled to remain healthy. Though, he continues to be highly productive when he is healthy. Washington would add versatility as a player that could help on the wing.
To make the deal work, the Knicks would likely have to send some draft compensation to the Hornets. And if they could sneak Reddish into this deal, it would help open up some minutes for other young players on the roster.
