Jae Crowder could be the piece that solidifies the Milwaukee Bucks’ title hopes this season.

Through the first few weeks of the season, specifically in the Eastern Conference, it’s the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks, and then everyone else. The Celtics and Bucks, at least at the start of the year, appear to be at a level above every other team in the conference.

That can certainly change over the course of the season, but it appears that this season could come down to those two teams in the East. And over the next few months, it’ll be interesting to see if any one of those two teams elects to make a move to try and separate themselves from each other.

In fact, I’m sure both teams will try. Whether they are successful in doing so remains to be seen. Specifically for the Bucks, there appears to be one plausible trade target that could end up making all the difference for the team.

That trade target is Jae Crowder.

Milwaukee has already been previously linked to Crowder. Now that we know there is interest, the next step is pondering if there’s a deal to be made between the two sides.

What a trade for Jae Crowder could look like for the Milwaukee Bucks

A simple trade that would work between the Bucks and Suns is a Crowder for Grayson Allen swap. It would make a ton of sense for Milwaukee since they’re reportedly shopping Allen. But it’s rare when trades are ever that simple in the league.

Quite frankly, the biggest possible hiccup with that deal is the act that I’m not sure the Suns would be all that interested in Allen. Phoenix doesn’t have a lot of available minutes in the backcourt and I’m sure the Suns would much rather prefer a frontcourt player in return if they’re parting ways with one.

Not to mention that the Suns will also be trying to survive without Cameron Johnson, who is expected to miss a couple of months due to an injury.

In essence, it would make a lot of sense for the Bucks to try and acquire Crowder before the deadline for the stretch run. It could make all the difference in a potential playoff series with the Celtics. But I’m not sure if they have the right ingredients to get a deal done. We shall see if they can figure it out.
