1. Paolo Banchero- Orlando Magic
Paolo Banchero is having one of the most impressive rookie seasons of all time and has quickly acclimated to the demanding style of the NBA. Banchero is averaging 23 points, eight rebounds, and roughly four assists. The Duke product has blended well with Orlando’s young roster, especially with fellow forward Franz Wagner and will more than likely run away with the Rookie of the Year Award.
If his current numbers hold, he will be the first rookie since the merger to average at least 23 points, eight rebounds, eight free throw attempts, and 3.5 assists per game.
The Magic have made a habit of drafting franchise-changing cornerstones with the number one pick and Banchero appears to be no exception. He could very well be named an all-star in his rookie season and if he doesn’t get it this year, he will surely be a regular in the years to come barring injury.
Banchero is the definition of a franchise game-changer and Orlando has to be ecstatic about their future with him at the center.
