NBA Trade Rumors: Three teams that should be interested in acquiring PJ Washington from the Charlotte Hornets at the trade deadline. 

Over the next few weeks, there are several teams in the NBA that will have to decide whether they’ll be sellers or stand pat at the trade deadline (which is roughly three months away). One of those teams that will have to make such a tough decision is the Charlotte Hornets.

Between the early-season injury to LaMelo Ball to the step back the team took during the offseason, a semi-rebuilt or retooling (whatever they want to label it) is somewhat being forced onto the Hornets. At the moment, the team is 4-12 and has the fourth-worst record in the NBA.

What options might the Charlotte Hornets have at the trade deadline?

Just because the Hornets appear destined for a top 5 pick, that doesn’t mean they have to blow up their entire roster. Even though there are signs that would say that’s the best possible way forward, there are smaller moves that the team could make that could help their retooling that wouldn’t completely destroy the foundation of the franhise.

One move that the team could make that would qualify as such is moving PJ Washington. He’s expected to test restricted free agency during the offseason and, clearly, the Hornets have questions about whether he is a long-term piece of the puzzle.
