Miami Heat
The Miami Heat makes a lot of sense for a player like Washington. He fills a lot of the Heat’s needs and would simplify a lot of their issues. For one, he would be able to slide right in at the starting power forward position next to Bam Adebayo. That move alone would open up so much for the rest of the Heat’s supporting cast.
Caleb Martin would be able to go back to a bench role where he could be a sparkplug for the team and it would add to the team’s depth. Dewayne Dedmon would be asked to do less – which is a good thing at this point in his career – and the Heat could still play big at times if they wanted.
The big question for the Heat is whether or not they’ll be able to fulfill the asking price that the Hornets will likely have. Logistically, the Heat will likely have to part ways with a future first-round pick and I’m not sure that’s something they would be all that interested in doing.
In theory, the idea of Washington on the Heat makes a ton of sense. There are some barriers to it actually happening, however.
