Miami Heat

The Miami Heat were linked to John Collins during the offseason and with the way they’ve started the season, it wouldn’t be all that surprising if they revisited that interest. The Heat lacks assets and I’m not sure they’d be willing to offer a first-round pick.

You’d have to imagine that the Hawks will be looking for role players and rotation contributors in return (along with draft compensation). I’m not sure if Miami has what it takes to get a deal done. Maybe something like Caleb Martin, Duncan Robinson, Nikola Jovic, and a future first-round pick would be enough for the Hawks?

I’m not sure that would be enough but it’s probably something the Heat would offer. It would be shocking if the Heat didn’t inquire. This is a team that is struggling mightily and desperately needs to find an answer at the power forward position.

In theory, Collins would be an excellent fit on the Heat. Maybe the front office doesn’t agree.
