NBA Trade Rumors: Phoenix Suns interested in trio of versatile forwards
NBA Trade Rumors: Looking to add some depth to the roster, the Phoenix Suns have been linked to a trio of versatile forwards.
The Phoenix Suns have been a pleasant surprise so far this season. While many believed this team was going to take a big step back, the Suns have defied those negative expectations and are amongst the most consistent teams in the Western Conference.
Their quick start leads one to believe whether this team feels they can win a championship. And if so, how will that reflect in their approach ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline? The Suns may be a player away from winning a title and it’ll be interesting to see how far they go in trying to find that player.
If the rumor mill is any indication, it seems that the Suns are going to be aggressive at the trade deadline – and you can’t help but wonder if that’s more of an impact of the injury to Cameron Johnson, who is set to miss a couple of months or if it’s just a team going all-in.
According to a recent report, the Suns have expressed interest in Harrison Barnes, Kyle Kuzma, and KJ Martin.
Will the Phoenix Suns be aggressive at the NBA Trade Deadline?
From the look of the players that they’ve been linked to, it seems that the Suns are sold on the idea of replacing Johnson in the short term and also solidifying their frontcourt.
The Suns have salaries on their roster that are movable and some picks that they could staple to them to make a deal work. But it could ultimately come down to how aggressive the Suns are willing to be at the deadline.
It wouldn’t be surprising either way and they can’t really go wrong. It would make sense for the Suns to be patient and wait for the return of Johnson. They have a good enough roster that they could survive.
At the same rate, if there was ever a time for the Suns to go all-in, this would be it. Chris Paul is not getting any younger, Devin Booker is playing some of the best basketball of his career, and the team committed to Deandre Ayton during the offseason.
If the Suns want to solidify their championship standing in the Western Conference, then perhaps making a move ahead of the deadline is the right course of action. Will it be for any of these three versatile forwards?
