What to be grateful for: Tyrese Haliburton jumpstarting their rebuild
The Indiana Pacers are in the midst of a rebuild/retooling of sorts and have actually gotten off to a solid start to the season. Nevertheless, if there’s one thing that this franchise should be grateful for it’s the fact that at last year’s NBA Trade Deadline, the Sacramento Kings traded Tyrese Haliburton to the Indiana Pacers in exchange for Domantas Sabonis.
In essence, many could view this deal as a wash. In his own right, Sabonis is a really good player and he’s continued to be that for the Kings. But Haliburton just fits the Pacers better in what they’re looking for in the next phase of Indiana basketball.
Plus, the Pacers had somewhat of a logjam in the frontcourt. So as the team shifted or pivoted to a rebuild, the Pacers should be grateful for Haliburton jumpstarting their new era of basketball.
