Memphis Grizzlies
What to be grateful for: Ja Morant defying nearly all odds
The Memphis Grizzlies went from a team that was constantly stuck in NBA purgatory to a team that many believe could seemingly win a championship over the course of the next five years. And a big reason why it has all changed for the Grizzlies is the emergence and continued development of Ja Morant.
That’s what the Grizzlies should be thankful for, the ability of Morant to defy all odds and to continue to make the leap to superstar. I don’t think there’s any argument to be had anymore. Morant is a legit superstar. And he’s still getting better.
This season, Morant is averaging 29 points, seven assists, and six rebounds per game on 48 percent shooting from the field and 40 percent shooting from 3-point range. He’s everything the Grizzlies could ask for in a star and face of the franchise.
The sky is the limit for Morant individually and, because of him, so is for the Grizzlies.
