What to be grateful for: Joel Embiid’s patience

Despite playing at an extremely high level in each of the past few years, Joel Embiid doesn’t have much playoff winning to show for it. And that falls on the shoulders of the Philadelphia 76ers who have failed to surround him with the necessary talent and competence to win a title.

But through that all, Embiid has remained patient with the franchise. In the era of player empowerment, there’s nothing that is stopping from Embiid going to the front office and demanding a trade away from the Sixers. So far, Embiid hasn’t gotten to that point. He still believes in The Process and is hoping Philadelphia can eventually reach the top of the mountain.

Embiid is arguably the best center in the league and the Sixers have relatively a talented roster. If this team doesn’t make a deep playoff run this season, there’s really no excuse. At least for now, the Sixers should be grateful for Embiid’s patience.
