What to be grateful for: Gregg Popovich sticking around

The San Antonio Spurs are far from contention and haven’t been close since trading Kawhi Leonard, but if there’s one thing this franchise should be grateful for it’s the fact that Gregg Popovich has decided to stick around. Pop could be enjoying his life wherever he wants, doing whatever he wants.

Instead, he has decided to stick around and help the Spurs set the blueprint for the next era of basketball. It hasn’t been ideal but as long as Pop is around, you kind of have to trust the Spurs to figure it out sooner or later.

The Spurs will likely need some lottery luck to jumpstart their rebuild but you’d have to imagine if they keep putting one foot in front of another, something will eventually fall their way.
