What to be grateful for: Jayson Tatum’s high ceiling

The Boston Celtics were two games short of winning the 2022 NBA Championship. They entered the offseason with the hopes of building on this roster, and that’s what they did with the acquisitions of Malcolm Brogdon and Danilo Gallinari.

The Celtics aren’t even completely healthy yet and they look every bit as dynamic as they did during the playoff run last season. And a big reason why is the play of Jayson Tatum, who is quickly playing himself into being a favorite to win the NBA MVP award.

Tatum is off to the best start of his career and you can make an argument that at just 24 years old that we haven’t even begun to see his best basketball. And that’s what the Celtics should be grateful for most – that the ceiling for Tatum is sky-high.

Because of it, the Celtics will likely be in the title picture for the foreseeable future. Including this season in which it feels like this could finally be the year for them.
