What to be grateful for: Michael Jordan’s ownership stake

The Charlotte Hornets are a struggling franchise. They are going to be a bottom 5 team in the league this season and even with LaMelo Ball, I’m not sure you can say that the Hornets’ future is necessarily bright. There are still big questions about Ball and his future potential in the league. He’s a really nice player but far from a consistent star.

But if there’s one thing that the Hornets should be grateful for, it’s the fact that Michael Jordan is still an owner of the team. That, more than anything, means a lot to this franchise. As long as he continues to be an owner, he will provide some relevance that this franchise otherwise wouldn’t have.

The Hornets have a lot of work to do (and probably could use a little luck) if they want to climb up the Eastern Conference standings over the course of the next couple of seasons. It won’t be easy. But the good news is that as long as Jordan is on board, they’re safe.
