Retool around Bam Adebayo

At least in my opinion, this is the option that I would lean toward. Bam Adebayo may not be the complete player that many hoped he would be at this point in his career but he’s still the most valuable player for the Heat so far this season. When he’s not on the floor, the defense plummets and the offense can’t function.

Additionally, it may be a bit easier or more plausible to retool around Bam than it would be to retool around Jimmy. Retooling around Jimmy would not include trading Bam. Retooling around Bam, though, would have to include trading Jimmy.

Quite frankly, assuming that Miami is unwilling to move Bam, trading Jimmy might be the Heat’s best shot at retooling the roster in the immediate future. But, even then, it’s hard to imagine the Heat swapping Butler out for a player that would help elevate this team to heights that Jimmy hasn’t during the last couple of seasons.

While retooling around Bam sounds like a good plan, I’m not sure how realistic it is at the same time.
