The Philadelphia 76ers are a team that has, for the most part, fallen short of expectations this season. Coming into the year, the thought was that this team would be able to compete with the likes of the Boston Celtics and the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference.

Through the first month of the season, that simply hasn’t been the case. On top of falling short of expectations, the Sixers have also had to battle injuries to key players. At the moment, both James Harden and Tyrese Maxey Have missed time with injuries, and there’s no certain timeline on when they’ll be back.

Joel Embiid has had to carry much of the load this season for the Sixers and after a slow start, he’s Embiid has been every bit of the star that we’ve come to expect. All that said, the Sixers have still left much to be desired so far.

The big question is whether or not the Sixers have enough on the current roster to get to that level that many expected them to be the season. If not, would an in-season trade be enough to help this team take the necessary steps forward?
