The Miami Heat is another team that you’re probably not used to seeing on the sellers’ list at the NBA Trade Deadline. But if the team can’t turn their season around in the next few weeks, it’s an option that this front office should think hard and long about.

Miami is currently out of the top 10 in the Eastern Conference standings and this team is too veteran-laden to not make the playoffs this season. That can’t be a thing that happens. And if it does, making a big trade at the deadline is something that absolutely needs to be considered.

I’m not calling the Heat to trade Jimmy Butler (that’s another conversation for another day) or Bam Adebayo. That’s not happening. Not even Tyler Herro. That seems highly unlikely and would be a hassle to make work financially with his raise heading into his extension.

But Kyle Lowry, Duncan Robinson, and Victor Oladipo are probably players the team should look to move. And if they can trade them without moving any future first-round picks, that’s something they should absolutely consider.
