Los Angeles Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers should be on this list. Whether they want to admit it or not, this is not a team that is close to contention and if they aren’t going to make a win-now move, which there is some reported hesitance on the idea of it, they should be sellers.
I’m not saying the Lakers should trade Anthony Davis or LeBron James. I’m not questioning their entire build, but I think it’s fair to say that this is a poorly built team that needs or could use some retooling. Who could the Lakers seemingly trade?
Well, it’s easy. Basically, players that are not part of the future and players that could bring in some return, even if it is just a second-round pick or some salary relief in the future. A few natural candidates are Patrick Beverley, Lonnie Walker, and Dennis Schroder.
If the Lakers are not going to make an aggressive move at the deadline, they should certainly be open to being sellers.
