Lakers make a small move with Houston

If the Los Angeles Lakers get to a point where they don’t want to trade all their assets, there will be an opportunity for them to make a smaller move. And one player that would make sense for the Lakers in that event is Eric Gordon, who the Houston Rockets will likely move at this year’s NBA Trade Deadline.

In this move, the Lakers would send Patrick Beverley and Kendrick Nunn as salary fillers along with one of their future first-round draft picks. In return, the Lakers get Gordon. On the surface, this would be a good trade for the Lakers. Would it catapult them to contender status in the West, I highly doubt it. But Gordon would help solve some of their offensive issues and 3-point shooting woes.

Gordon is a great asset for the Lakers to target considering that he has a team option for next season. If it doesn’t work with Gordon this season, the Lakers could either elect to opt-out of his contract for next season or opt-in and then try to trade him during the offseason.
