Josh Richardson

If the Cleveland Cavaliers are looking for a more two-way player, Josh Richardson is one that they should certainly have on their trade deadline wishlist. Richardson is an expiring contract and has been pretty good this season in San Antonio.

Richardson is averaging 10 points and three assists per game on 36 percent shooting from 3-point range. He is comfortable (and has experience) playing the 1 or 2 and could give the team a bit of defensive flexibility by covering some 3’s.

Richardson is interesting because the Cavs could use him alongside Darius Garland or Donovan Mitchell and he could help defensively. He’s also a player that has become a good 3-point shooter and could play off either of them offensively.

I’m not sure what the Spurs would be looking for in terms of compensation, but the Cavs have one of the best general managers in the game. After quietly undercutting every team in the Mitchell bidding war from the offseason, something tells me he should be able to figure it out.
