NBA Trade Rumors: The Phoenix Suns are interested in Kenyon Martin Jr. and Eric Gordon.

After a chaotic offseason, the Phoenix Suns were a pleasant surprise at the start of the season. Even though they’ve endured a rough patch in which they’ve lost five of their last six games, the Suns are still a top 4 team in the conference and are just 2.5 games back of the top-seeded New Orleans Pelicans (which is an interesting story in itself).

The Suns still believe they are close to winning a title (as they should) and will likely be one of the more aggressive teams heading into to the NBA Trade Deadline. They’ve already been linked to Bogdan Bogdanovic, Kyle Kuzma, Harrison Barnes, and Jordan Clarkson. And it doesn’t stop there.

According to a recent report, the Suns may also be interested in Kenyon Martin Jr. and Eric Gordon. Both Gordon and Martin have one year remaining on their contracts after this season and could be interesting additions to the Suns. They would help solidify some of the team’s questions when it comes to their depth but are just other options for this team heading into the deadline.

What move will the Phoenix Suns ultimately make?

As we have chronicled, the Suns have been linked to many players. And we’re still two months away from the trade deadline. The list is likely to only grow over the course of the next few weeks. Not to mention that the Suns are also still waiting out the right deal to move Jae Crowder.

I think it’s pretty safe to say that it would be surprising if the Suns didn’t make at least one move at the trade deadline.

This is a team that feels they’re close to winning a championship and in the wide-open Western Conference, which is currently being led by the Pelicans, they should feel that way. As long as their big three of Chris Paul, Devin Booker, and Deandre Ayton can remain healthy, this is a team that may be a piece or two away from winning a chip.

The big question is whether or not the final piece of the puzzle for the Suns is any of the teams that they have been recently linked to. The Suns are going to do their due diligence and will pull the trigger on the move they feel will put them in the best position to win a championship.
