Three reasons why it’s not outrageous to say that Zion Williamson should be the favorite to win the NBA MVP right now. 

With his excellent play so far this season, coupled with the team success that the New Orleans Pelicans are also experiencing, I think it’s safe to say that Zion Williamson has entered the NBA Most Valuable Player conversation and looks to become a favorite.

The MVP is the most prestigious individual NBA award a player can win. Williamson’s impact on a game, impressive leadership, and overall play will push him into the Michael Jordan MVP Award conversation.

Other possible early MVP candidates

Looking around the league, there are certainly other players that have made a strong impression in the early race for NBA MVP. You can make a strong argument for Jayson Tatum, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Luka Doncic, Ja Morant, and even Joel Embiid.

However, let’s not be afraid to throw in a new, fresh name into the race this season. Let’s explore three reasons why it may be time to do that with Zion Williamson.
