2023 NBA Mock Draft: Victor Wembanyama will change the landscape of the league
12. Atlanta Hawks – Cason Wallace, G, Kentucky
Things have certainly changed for the Atlanta Hawks recently. With some uncertainty that revolves around the team in the backcourt, the Hawks could make a move for some insurance at the guard position. And one potential fit for the team is Kentucky guard Carson Wallace.
I’m not saying that the Hawks are going to trade Trae Young or that even is a possibility, but that thought has now become real recently. Wallace is not the offensive player that Young is; very few are. But he has the potential to be a very good player in the right developmental system.
Wallace is more of a defensive presence but is still putting up solid numbers during his freshman season. Wallace is averaging 12 points, four rebounds, four assists, and 2.5 steals per game on 50 percent shooting from the field and 50 percent shooting from 3.
