The New York Knicks will nearly pull off a first-round playoff upset

Going off the assumption that the Knicks will finish as the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference playoff picture, that means they will likely play either the Cleveland Cavaliers, Brooklyn Nets, or Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the playoffs. No matter who they go up against, I think the Knicks will have a puncher’s chance to win a few games.

In fact, one of my predictions for the Knicks during the 2023 calendar year is that they will push whomever they face in the first round to seven games. I don’t think that would be a crazy prediction. The Knicks are still getting better as a team and will likely do everything they can to make an addition at the NBA Trade Deadline.

New York is still likely a year or two away from making any type of run in the postseason but I think we’ll begin to see some signs of that this season.
