NBA: 5 players that should get first-time All-Star nods in 2023
By Max Griffith
Jalen Brunson, New York Knicks
After signing a big deal with the New York Knicks in free agency this summer, the guard out of Villanova has been off to a hot start. He is averaging 20.2 points and 6.6 assists per game, which are both career highs.
Brunson is also towards the top of the NBA in total clutch points. After four years in Dallas, Brunson has had the ball in his hands a lot more in his time with the Knicks, and he is showing what he is capable of. Brunson has also notched in five 30-point games and nine games with nine or more assists.
Julius Randle has been the main scorer in New York, but they wouldn’t be the team they have been without the services of Brunson. Out of the five players on this list, I’d say Brunson has the worst chance to make the All-star game, but he is most certainly in the conversation.
