Minnesota Timberwolves

Entering this season, there was an outside belief that the Minnesota Timberwolves could finish as one of the top 4 seeds in the Western Conference. After going all-in for Rudy Gobert and watching Anthony Edwards continue to blossom in a lead role, the hype around the Timberwolves was growing. However, that hasn’t exactly been the case through the first couple of months of the season.

The Wolves haven’t been a top 4 team in the West. The Rudy Gobert experiment has gone as bad as possibly can and Minnesota is on pace to miss the playoffs entirely. In an attempt to not only salvage the season but the build entirely, the Wolves may need to make a move at the NBA Trade Deadline.

The cold reality, however, is that it’s unlikely the Wolves will be able to trade either Karl-Anthony Towns (because that would be foolish) or Gobert (it’s hard to envision any team wanting him). Quite frankly, that’s where the team’s true issues lie.

I’d be shocked if the Wolves didn’t try to salvage the latter portion of the season with a trade.
