P.J. Washington, Charlotte Hornets

I’ve been banging on this drum for a while now. If the Heat is going to continue to play Bam Adebayo at the center position, they might as well try to find a power forward that fits better than Caleb Martin. And P.J. Washington may be that player for the Heat. He also happens to be a player that could seemingly be moved at the NBA Trade Deadline.

Washington is in the final year of his current deal with the Hornets and will likely test the restricted free-agent market during the offseason. Unless the Hornets are completely sold on him being a long-term power forward for the team, it would be wise for them to explore his trade market ahead of the deadline.

And if Miami is insistent on not retooling their roster, they need to make some upgrades to the power forward position. Washington may not be ideal but he’s cheaper than a big-name option and is a player that may end up being moved at the deadline.
