5. Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers are another team in the Eastern Conference that has dark horse potential. Most of that is due to the acquisition of Donovan Mitchell, who has been sensational for the team so far this season. And that was punctuated by a 71-point performance a few days ago.

Coming in at No. 5, the Cavs will have the opportunity to turn some heads in the postseason. They need the experience for their young core and this is a team that is likely still a couple of years away from being a favorite in the East (if that).

And if the Cavs make a move at the NBA Trade Deadline, their chances of making noise in the playoffs are only going to rise. If they can stay healthy, the Cavs should be a scary matchup for any team in the postseason.
