LA Clippers
The LA Clippers are a team to keep an eye on heading into the NBA Trade Deadline. They have quietly hovered around the middle of the Western Conference standings for the majority of the season and haven’t really found their high gear so far this season – the one that many believe will make this team a championship contender this season.
And through the first half of the season, the Clippers have been nothing special or nothing sensational. At 21-21, the Clippers are a middle-of-the-pack team in the West that may be able to turn it on late in the season. But nothing can be certain, especially considering that Kawhi Leonard has only played in 18 of the 42 games played this season.
But one way the Clippers could try and jump-start the team is with a big move at the NBA Trade Deadline. One player that could make some sense and give this team a scoring punch in the backcourt is Gary Trent Jr. He’s an expiring contract and could give this team some flexibility moving forward.
Plus, he’ll give this team another scoring element that they may end up needing down the stretch, especially with the uncertainty that revolves around a 100 percent Kawhi.
