Dallas Mavericks
Even though Spencer Dinwiddie has actually been quite good this season for the Dallas Mavericks, let’s not act like this team has not sorely missed Jalen Brunson. They have. And perhaps Gary Trend Jr. is not going to replicate the same things that Brunson did for this team (they’re too very different players), just reloading that depth to the roster could hold some value for this team at the NBA Trade Deadline.
In an attempt to get back to the Western Conference Finals, or further, the Mavs will likely need to make a move at the trade deadline. If it’s not for a star (which is hard to see how that is going to happen at the moment), I don’t think the Mavs should entirely wait until the offseason to make a move.
Maybe they decide to dabble in that second tier of players and land on Trent as a potential target. He could be a secondary or tertiary scorer that they need on a consistent basis while also giving this team versatility heading into the offseason (if they would want to bring him back).
