NBA Trade Rumors: The Utah Jazz has discussed an intriguing trade package to offer for John Collins.

After a solid start to the season in which they turned into one of the biggest underdog stories in all the NBA, the Utah Jazz have simmered down the Western Conference standings over the last few weeks. Utah is ninth in the West but is just 3-7 in their last 10 games. They’re trending in the wrong direction with the NBA Trade Deadline quickly approaching.

That could open the door for some big moves at the deadline. The Jazz has room to operate and still several players on their roster that would be considered as appealing on the open market. Two of which are Malik Beasley and Jarred Vanderbilt. One player that the Jazz would be open to flipping both Beasley and Vanderbilt for is John Collins, according to a recent report.

Collins is a player that has been on the trade block since the offseason but also one that the Hawks haven’t always seemed willing to move. It’s a tricky situation but certainly one that is worth monitoring. And one that the Jazz has been watching.

Would this be enough to get a deal done with the Atlanta Hawks?

The expectation, at least for now, is that the Hawks want a big offer for Collins. Would a package of Beasley and Vanderbilt be enough for the Hawks to pull the trigger? At the very least, it would be intriguing. Atlanta has to consider itself close to breaking through into that second tier of the East. The trade for Dejounte Murray would echo that.

It hasn’t been an ideal start for the Hawks this season and you can’t help but wonder if you swap out Collins for two strong rotation players if that would help jump-start this team in the second half of the season.

It’s something the Hawks will have to figure out over the next few weeks. Not only if they want to move on from Collins but also what type of return they’d be seeking. Do they want strictly draft picks or do they want the chance to compete now with a return of rotation pieces?

The next few weeks heading into the trade deadline should be interesting on the John Collins trade front. You’d have to imagine that it has reached a head and this kind of has to be the time he finally gets moved. But that remains to be seen.
