Trade target: Gary Trent Jr., Toronto Raptors

The Memphis Grizzlies are going to head into the playoffs with a golden opportunity. They’re going to finish as one of the top two seeds in the conference and are going to have homecourt all the way through (at least) the first two rounds. What does that mean? There’s no reason why this team should make the conference finals this season. That’s the next step.

And they could solidify their chances of doing that by making a move at the NBA Trade Deadline. Assuming this team is all-on right now, one potential trade target could be Gary Trent Jr. He’d give the Grizzlies another shooting and scoring threat that would effectively take some pressure off of Ja Morant.

Trent is an expiring contract so he could be viewed as a rental or perhaps even a player that the Grizzlies end up signing long-term if things go really well for this pairing in the playoffs. The Grizzlies have options to make a big splash at the trade deadline. Will they?
