Brooklyn Nets
Trade target: Jae Crowder, Phoenix Suns
The Brooklyn Nets are a team that should be all-in on this season. There are plenty of uncertainties that possibly await this team during the offseason, especially regarding the futures of Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, and this is looking more and more like a truly realistic chance to win a title.
That means they should be open to making a big move at the NBA Trade Deadline, perhaps one for Jae Crowder. The Nets will likely be looking for some help along the frontcourt next to Nic Claxton. You can make a case that they should go after John Collins or Rui Hachimura, but considering the Nets’ current circumstances, a better rental may end up being Crowder.
He would be cheaper and be less of a financial investment in the long term. If the Nets were to make a move for Hachimura, they would have to re-sign him during the offseason to rationalize the move. And Collins has three years, $75-plus million left on his contract after this season.
