NBA Trade Rumors: 5 teams that must be ultra-aggressive at the deadline

It may seem a bit odd to see the Dallas Mavericks on this list but I believe there is a real reason why they should be aggressive heading into the NBA Trade Deadline. And that is, they can’t mess around with wasting years of Luka Doncic’s prime. We’ve seen other teams do that in the past with superstars and it has come at the cost of a trade demand.

The Mavs can’t afford to do that with Luka. Over the first few years of his career, Luka has quickly risen to the conversation of one of the best players in the game. You can argue that he’s currently the second or third-best player in the NBA right now.

The Mavs recently lost a big player in Jalen Brunson and they didn’t really do much to replace him. If the Mavs want to avoid getting on Luka’s bad side, they need to continue to make moves that suggest the franchise is trying to surround him with the best possible talent.

Making an aggressive move at the trade deadline would echo that.
