NBA Trade Rumors: Is Bojan Bogdanovic still the Lakers’ ‘big’ deadline move?
NBA Trade Rumors: There are still whispers that the big move that the Los Angeles Lakers end up making at the trade deadline is for Bojan Bogdanovic.
Things are beginning to look up for the Los Angeles Lakers. Anthony Davis is expected to make his return to the lineup in the next few days and the team is fresh off their acquisition of Rui Hachimura. The Lakers should have a pep in their step the next time they take the court and they still may not be done upgrading their roster.
With the NBA Trade Deadline just a couple of weeks away, the Lakers could still be waiting to make their big move. They are just a few games out of being in the thick of the Western Conference playoff race and the move for Hachimura should only embolden this team’s approach heading into the deadline.
And according to a recent report, there is one name that could end up being the team’s big move at the deadline – Bojan Bogdanovic. The Lakers have been linked to Bogdanovic before but the Detroit Pistons’ huge asking price has prevented a deal from being completed thus far.
Could the Detroit Pistons be bluffing on the Bojan Bogdanovic asking price?
It’ll be interesting to see if the Pistons’ asking price on Bogdanovic lowers at any point over the next couple of weeks. At least to me, it never truly made much sense for the Pistons to not trade Bogdanovic at this year’s NBA Trade Deadline.
The Pistons are not close to contending and Bogdanovic would be better served on a contender. And it would be somewhat foolish for Detroit not to take advantage of Bogdanovic’s hot trade value right now.
There’s an argument to be mad that Bogdanovic’s trade value is at an all-time high right now. For the Pistons to just sit on that and not trade him ahead of the deadline never really sat well with me.
Could the Pistons absolutely do that, sure? But I simply don’t buy that. I think, when push comes to shove, the Pistons will cage on their asking price for Bogdanovic. And if they get offered a good enough first-round pick, they’ll take it. As they should.
And maybe that ends up being an offer from the Lakers. If so, it could put them in a great position to make some noise down the stretch in the Western Conference.
