NBA Trade Rumors: Heading into the NBA Trade Deadline, the Golden State Warriors and New York Knicks could be eyeing a move for Alex Caruso.
Both the Golden State Warriors and New York Knicks will be looking to upgrade their rosters ahead of the NBA Trade Deadline, but likely for two different reasons. The Warriors will be looking to catch fire heading into the stretch run in an attempt to repeat as champions while the Knicks will be looking to solidify themselves as a playoff team in the Eastern Conference.
Either way, it seems that both teams have their eye on one common NBA Trade Deadline candidate. According to a recent report, both the Knicks and Warriors have their eyes on the possibility of making a move for Alex Caruso.
This report shouldn’t come as surprising considering that Caruso has become somewhat of a hot name in the rumor mill recently. Caruso is averaging six points, three rebounds, and three assists per game on 39 percent shooting from 3-point range this season. Though, beyond the stats, he’s been a key cog to Chicago’s defense and is a glue guy whose importance extends well beyond the stat sheet.
And that is something that is very much echoed throughout the league.
The high asking price for Alex Caruso could keep the New York Knicks, Golden State Warriors at bay
However, despite the expansive interest in Caruso, there is one big obstacle that could prevent a deal from happening at the trade deadline – the Bulls’ high asking price for the 28-year-old guard.
It’s not that the Bulls simply value Caruso, the story is about how much they value Caruso. According to a recent report, the Bulls have an asking price of two future first-round pics for Caruso.
It may seem a bit laughable that the Bulls are asking for two first-round picks in any deal for Caruso, but that just goes to show just how much Chicago values him. And how important he is to the team.
Despite the interest, it would be highly surprising if the Bulls traded Caruso ahead of the deadline. Part of their high asking price is that the Bulls simply don’t want to trade him. He’s on a great contract and is still getting better as a player.
It’s likely going to take a godfather offer from the Warriors or Knicks to pry Caruso out of Chicago. In other words, a trade likely isn’t happening.
