Buddy Hield, Indiana Pacers
For one reason or another, no one seems to be talking about Buddy Hield as a possible NBA Trade Deadline candidate that could end up making a huge difference if he lands on the right team. Maybe that’s because many don’t ultimately believe that the Indiana Pacers are going to trade him, but with their recent play, the likelihood that the team trades him has to have risen over the last couple of weeks.
And if Hield does find his way to the right team, there’s no question that he could have a great impact during the second half of the season. Hield is averaging 18 points and five rebounds on 45 percent shooting from the field and 43 percent from 3-point range. If nothing else, Hield’s prolific outside shooting is something that would be useful to a team heading into the playoffs.
Hield is not being talked about as a headlining trade deadline target and he should be. If there’s a team looking for another scorer, help in the backcourt, or shooting, Hield should be the target at the top (aside from a potential star wiggling free).
