NBA Trade Rumors: New York Knicks interested in Saddiq Bey ahead of deadline

NBA Trade Rumors: Saddiq Bey has emerged as a potential trade deadline target for the New York Knicks. 

From all indications, the New York Knicks are a team that is scouring the trade market in an attempt to upgrade its roster before the stretch run. And even though the Knicks have plenty of flexibility heading into the deadline, that could prove to be easier said than done.

Nevertheless, the Knicks are certainly a team to watch over the next week and a half. And while they’ve been linked to many players, there is one fairly new target that New York appears to be at least somewhat interested in – Saddiq Bey.

Bey is a player that has been in and out of the trade rumor mill. The Detroit Pistons remain open to trading Bey but for the right offer. The Pistons are not just going to hand Bey over at the deadline just for the sake of doing so.

The Knicks could easily offer a future first-round pick to the Pistons but the big question is whether or not Bey is a player that the team wants to prioritize at the deadline.

Will the New York Knicks make a splash at the NBA Trade Deadline?

There remains plenty of mystery heading into this year’s NBA Trade Deadline. Will there be some big moves? There have been plenty of rumors but still hasn’t been much traction on any of the big names being moved. With the exception of OG Anunoby, who seems to be trending in a way where he could be traded.

Myles Turner signed an extension with the Indiana Pacers, meaning that he’s officially off the table. Nevertheless, the Knicks almost have to make an upgrade at the trade deadline if they’re serious about being a player this season in the Eastern Conference.

And it seems that they’re trying to add at the wing position. The nicks will likely be in on the Anunoby sweepstakes if the Raptors trade him, and that makes the team’s interest in Bey that much more understandable.

There’s an argument that the team should take a flier on Bey rather than spending the amount of draft capital that it will likely take to land Anunoby. Bey may not be considered a core player for the Pistons but he’s still been very good through the first few years of his career.

If the Knicks are looking for a plan b to Anunoby, for whatever reason, Bey would be a solid addition.
