Jakob Poeltl, San Antonio Spurs

There are several teams that are in pursuit of Jakob Poeltl. He’s arguably the best center that is on the open market and could make a big impact on a team as a starter or even a backup. He’s enjoying the best season of his career thus far and will be heading into free agency in hopes of securing a big payday.

He could get a head start on that journey at the deadline. For a team that is looking to solidify its center position, Poeltl should be viewed as the ideal target. If there’s one gripe against Poeltl, it’s the fact that he doesn’t shoot 3’s, but he does nearly everything else well.

Poeltl is averaging 12 points, nine rebounds, and three assists per game on 62 percent shooting from the field. As a true 7-footer, it’s no surprise that there will be plenty of intrigue surrounding Poeltl over the next week.

The Spurs have a high asking price for him but there’s at least a good chance that he will be on the move on deadline day.
