NBA Trade Rumors: The Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks could look to make a move for Will Barton at the NBA Trade Deadline.
Heading into the NBA Trade Deadline, there are many teams that will likely be looking to make an upgrade before the stretch run. And two teams that will likely be aggressive over the next few days are the Brooklyn Nets and Milwaukee Bucks.
The Nets are Bucks are two teams that should feel as if they may be a move or two away at the trade deadline from emerging as a favorite in the Eastern Conference. If they can add the right player at the deadline, there’s no reason to believe why either of these two teams couldn’t overtake the Boston Celtics as a favorite.
And the good news is that both teams should have options heading into next week’s NBA Trade Deadline.
According to a recent report, the Nets and Bucks are two teams that could make a move for Washington Wizards guard Will Barton heading into the NBA Trade Deadline.
Will Barton will be a solid bench addition for any contender
Even though Barton’s production has fallen off a bit this season, he’s still been solid off the bench. And if he’s a player that could replicate that for a contender, there’s no question that he could play a legit role down the stretch this season.
In a reduced role off the bench for the Wizards, Barton is averaging eight points and three rebounds per game on 37 percent shooting from 3-point range. Again, at this point in his career, he may not be a consistent starting-caliber guard but he’s absolutely a player that could add some depth for a contender down the stretch.
Barton is an expiring contract after this season and if the Wizards don’t plan on re-signing him, it would be smart to move him at the deadline. Even if the return wouldn’t be much, the Wizards shouldn’t be closed to the idea of trading Barton.
Whether or not they actually move forward with that remains to be seen, but it seems that there will be suitors. Barton is certainly a name to keep an eye on heading into the deadline.
